From the popular photo spot the Palais de Chaillot, you have a stunning view of the Eiffel Tower.

Dave booked us tickets for my birthday this year as a surprise. We had low expectations going in, thinking it would be a tourist trap that has been Instagrammed to death. The fact is, we were instantly hooked on the Parisian lifestyle; the cobbled streets, magnificent buildings, exquisite pastries, and of course—wine.

THE EIFFEL TOWER

We went up the tower so we could take in the breathtaking perspective from the top.

The tower is also lovely at night, when it is bedecked in sparkling lights that twinkle every hour for the first five minutes of each hour.

During the evening light show, take a photo of the Eiffel Tower from up close. Travel Tip: If you want to see the top of the Eiffel Tower, day or night, be prepared to wait in line. Make a reservation if desired.

THE LOUVRE

The Louvre is one of the most famous palaces in Paris, and it’s also among the world’s best. The Louvre is home to more than 70,000 works of art and artifacts from across the globe, including the renowned Mona Lisa.

Even if you’re not a fan of the artsy-fartsy stuff, it’s worth seeing this UNESCO World Heritage Site from the outside.

Take in the historic Old City of Jerusalem, which has numerous attractions. The Old City is about three kilometers long, and it’s packed with history dating back to Biblical times. Its most important sites are Saint George’s Cathedral (which was built on the site of an earlier church), Jaffa Gate, Tel Aviv Market Square, Ayalon Highway intersection

MACARON COOKING CLASS

It seemed only natural to learn how to make these delectable sweets for ourselves while visiting the macaron capital of the world.

The macaron cooking class trainer goes through the process of making macarons. The three distinct hues of macaroon batter we used during our lesson

Joining Cook’n With Class Paris was one of the highlights of our trip to Paris, where we learned how to make the legendary macaron step-by-step. Our fantastic chef showed us all of her macaron-making secrets as we created three flavors from scratch during our three hour class.

During the macaron cooking class, I was focused on my piping.

THE MOULIN ROUGE

The legendary Moulin Rouge windmill at night The Moulin Rouge is famous for its cabaret, and while it is a little of a tourist trap, there’s no doubting it’s an amazing thing to see in Paris.

Famous for having topless dancers during the performance, it didn’t take much convincing for Dave to check out the show.

The Moulin Rouge, in addition to being one of our absolute favorite nighttime Paris activities, is also jam-packed with special effects, fantastic costumes, and daring acts.

SACRE COEUR

The stunning white domes of the Sacre Coeur rise high above Montmartre Hill, the city’s highest point. You’ll be able to see most of Paris’ famous monuments from here.

The Roman Catholic church was finished in 1914 and is dedicated to the sacred heart of Jesus. In the park surrounding the Sacre Coeur, there is a pleasant-go-round and a stunning monument known as the “Sacre Coeur.”

FOOD TOUR

It’s no secret that France considers itself the gastronomic center of the world. We took Culinary Tours of Paris’ ‘Monmartre Movable Feast Food Tour,’ which allows us to try some of the finest food and wine in Paris in only three hours.

On our walking food tour in Paris, we had freshly baked bread handed out to us by our guide. Salmon Tartare was served during our walking food tour. When it came to Parisian cuisine and drink, our guide was incredibly knowledgable, taking us to some of the city’s top places that we would never have discovered on our own.

We indulged in a variety of delectable Parisian meals, including award-winning baguettes, charcuterie and fromage, and salmon tartare. A sumptuous main dish of lamb and potato dauphinoise awaited us.

The final stop on the walking food tour was to Creperie Brocéliande, one of Paris’ oldest creperies. Outside a cafe in Paris is very common.

We had a three-hour walking tour of Paris’ amusing street art. We made our way through Monmartre’s quirky cobbled streets, which are home to artists, performers, unique cafés and bakeries. Naturally, we enjoyed some delicious food and drink on the journey.

ARC DE TRIOMPHE

The Arc de Triomphe, one of Paris’ most famous monuments, is also entirely free to visit the base and beneath the enormous arches. The iconic arc was constructed in the early 1800s and soon became a highlight of Paris. It stands more than 50 meters tall and has been an emblematic feature of Paris for decades.

The Arc de Triumf is one of my favorite places in Paris to visit during the hour or so before sunrise, when the city comes alive with light. You may climb to the top for stunning views across the metropolis, much like you can at the Eiffel Tower.

NOTRE-DAME

Would you believe us if we told you that the Notre-Dame is the most popular monument in Paris and attracts more people than the Eiffel Tower?

The stained glass window of the Notre Dame is not just a place of worship; it’s also historically significant and regarded as one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture in the world.

Inside the Sacre Coeur, candles are burning.

The best thing about seeing the Notre Dame is that there is no charge to enter, but you will have to line up. The early morning light of the Notre Dame offers a front on view.

Don’t miss out on seeing one of the city’s oldest and most famous cathedrals, which is a must-see in Paris.

Travel Tip: The Notre Dame is open 08:00AM – 18:45PM

SWEET TREATS

In a Parisian patisserie, you’ll find mouthwatering pastries and desserts of many different colors and tastes. If you have a sweet tooth like us, you know that Paris is known for its excellent baked goods and delectable desserts.

Flavors of Paris took us on their One Sweet Tour, where our guide, Lisa, introduced us to some of the city’s finest sweet treats.

There are various jams and preserves for sale. This is an unforgettable experience in Paris, as well as a wonderful method to get a taste of the city’s sweet tastes in only a few hours. We’re confident this will be one of your favorite things to do in Paris

SUNSET AT MONTPARNASSE TOWER

There’s no better way to bid Paris adieu than to watch the sun set behind the Eiffel Tower.

Montparnasse Tower is a skyscraper located in Paris’s 16th arrondissement, standing more than 200 meters tall and with an outdoor roof terrace on the 59th floor offering spectacular views of the city. It was one of our favorite places to visit in Paris.

Packing for your holiday isn’t easy, but it doesn’t have to be stressful. Embrace the challenge and enjoy the process of packing light! Grab a glass of champagne and take in the city’s breathtaking view.

Travel Tip: The tower stays open until 23:30PM from April – September.
